Chemical peeling: Revitalizes skin with AHA and BHA, improves pores and texture.
Book a consultation nowAt Kalia Lab, we use chemical peeling to renew your skin. AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) promotes collagen production to make skin look firmer and more youthful. BHA (beta hydroxy acid) helps to control excess oil and clear pores, which can effectively reduce or combat acne and blackheads. The treatment makes your skin look smoother and fresher.
The chemical peel stimulates the production of collagen for firmer skin.
The treatment removes impurities and sebum from the pores.
The chemical peeling promotes cell renewal for a fresh complexion.
The right time for treatment varies from person to person. In general, it is recommended if you want radiant and pure skin.
Most acid treatments (AHA/BHA) remove the upper layers of skin; this makes the skin particularly sensitive to UV rays. This poses an increased risk of sun damage, hyperpigmentation and extended recovery times after treatment.
In rare cases, the skin allows a “slight” cleansing after an acid treatment. Since the acids remove the top layers of skin and the skin thus becomes “softer”, cleansing can result in minor injuries and possibly pigmentation.
No! The intensity of acids consists, among other things, of their pH value and their concentration (%). Medicinal acids are very “acidic acids” → low pH + high concentration, whereas home care acids usually have a very low concentration (often known as 2% BHA) and a significantly higher pH value!
- Avoid using abrasive care products or scrubs a few days before treatment.
- Avoid sunbeds and sauna visits a few days before treatment.
- Avoid shaving or waxing your face 24 hours before treatment.- Drink enough fluids, especially on the day of treatment.
- Use SPF 50+ daily to prevent pigmentation and skin damage
- As already explained in your treatment, do a gentle double cleansing in the evening with lukewarm water. Make sure not to rub and only dab the face. For aftercare, you can use soothing care and ceramides (e.g. “Fast Skin Repair” from mesoestetic).
- If possible, avoid applying makeup for the next few days. However, you can use tinted mineral powder or fluid for lightweight coverage. You can use lipstick and mascara without hesitation.
- Avoid sweaty sports for the next 72 hours Light activities, such as relaxing stretching, are okay.
- Avoid drinking alcohol for the next 24 hours- Avoid sharp changes in temperature and external heat over the next 72 hours to minimize the risk of infection (e.g. don't go to the sauna and don't shower too hot).
- Avoid intensive exfoliations, sunbaths, and pool visits for the next 72 hours.
